In step four, it is time to begin putting your interests on your Star Diagram. Interests include:
- Hobbies
- Sports
- TV/Radio/Movies/Books
- Leisure Activities
Discussion of Process
I added the word "reading" because I read all kinds of books and magazines (as well as student papers). I have also done sketches to show my avid interest in gardening and the fact that I enjoy traveling.
Special Note on Sketching
Sketching on the Star Diagram works just as well as words. And you don't even have to draw well for your work to be acceptable. I am an artist, but I can't sketch decently.
Some might ask, "How anyone could get 'traveling' out of a stick figure next to a blob?" It is a reasonable question. But the stick figure is standing next to one of the many statues of the Buddha that I saw while traveling in Thailand. The blob is not meant in any way to be disrespectful of the Buddha. I just don't sketch very well.
