  • Homework Assignments Related to Research Project.
  • Class Notes and Handouts Related to Research Project.

  • Research logs or journal

  • Drafts of Papers

  • Other Materials

Binders in Classroom

In 2012, I began requiring students to keep a class binder that included a tab for each day. They place their syllabus at the front of the binder and their worksheets, homework assignments, and so forth behind each of the appropriate tabs. The primary reason students keep the binders up to date is because this is the only record of their participation points. However, they have benefited by having all of their course materials neatly organized and easy to access during class.

As of the 2013 Spring semester, you could purchase a packet of 31 pre-numbered tabs for about $7.00 at the Schoolcraft College bookstore. With the cost of a $5.00 binder, for approximately $12.00, you can have an excellent organizational system for your classes.
