Quote Everything

The literature about how to write a research paper almost universally recommends that students should almost always paraphrase everything while taking notes. However, for some people, only writing down direct quotes is a workable strategy. If all notes are taken as direct quotes, there is no worry about accidentally forgetting to put quote marks on your note card.

In the note card below, I did not include quotation marks around the quoted material because I know that all of my typed notes are direct quotes. Although this strategy works for me, for most people, it is not recommended.
