Promoting Integrity at the Classroom Level:
Creating a Culture of Integrity
It is easier for a member of the faculty to maintain academic integrity at the classroom level if there is a culture of integrity at the college. In addition to having a college honors code, individuals are more likely to act with integrity if
- students are educated about what constitutes academic honesty and academic dishonesty.
- faculty have administrative support when they pursue a complaint against a student for plagiarism or other forms of academic dishonesty.
- students feel a connection to the college.
