Parts of a Citation

A proper citation provides enough information for your reader to easily locate your reference. In order to do this, the reader needs to know the following information:

Avoiding Plagiarism

The first note card you take for each source should include all of the information you need for your bibliography. You also need to have a strategy in place so you can easily link your other note cards to this first bibliographic card. "Quality Notes Help You Avoid Plagiarism" gives five such strategies.
