Promoting Integrity at the Classroom Level:
Make Students Part of the Decision Making Process

One way to develop positive relationships with students is to engage them in the learning process by giving them choices about types of assignments that will be covered. For example, Professor Mark Harris chooses three of the four movies his online film students watch together. But the students are responsible for selecting a fourth movie.

I often negotiate assignments with students and take their recommendations. Generally, students work harder when they help decide on approaches to the class.
