Promoting Integrity in Assignments:
Require Reflection

In a "Weekly Reflection" or some other way such as a the examples given in "Constantly Evaluate for Understanding," you can ask students to reflect on and to report on their progress. This helps students stay on track so that they are not rushed which is one of the ways to promote integrity in the classroom. It is also likely that a student will want to report more than "I went to an on-line paper mill."

"Paper Mill Sites as Learning Tools" is a handout you can assign your students to help them learn that paper mill sites produce poor quality research.

In addition to being a strategy to help prevent plagiarism, asking students to periodically reflect on their research helps them better understand course content and research methodology.
