Although using copyrighted text in comment is permitted, you must remember that one of the criteria that copyright law uses to determine fair use is the "amount and substantiality of the portion used in relation to the copyrighted work as a whole." For example, we believe that the portions of articles and web sites we have quoted throughout this web site are covered under fair use. However, if we were to have copied an entire article as part of our comments, we would likely violate fair use.
