Google Books

The most recent edition of the MLA Handbook provides flexibility in the types of information included in a citation. Although I send individuals to the Purdue On-Line Writing Lab for additional information, they do not suggest a format for Google Books. Although I think that a case could be made to treat Google Books like other books, I think it is more accurate to treat them as an electronic resource in the following way.

Basic Format

Last Name, First Name. Title of Book. Publisher, Publication Date. Google Books. Accessed

Example

Wollstonecraft, Mary. Thoughts on the Education of Our Daughters: With Reflections on Female Conduct, in the Important Duties of Life. London, 1787. Google Books. Accessed 1 Oct. 2016.
